Prices in Australian dollars. No GST is charged: PrepDesk isn’t registered for GST yet. Level monthly prices are the level times its rate, in whole dollars.
Seasonal or Level: two ways to pay for the same plans.
Seasonal
Change plan as your year changes: up for tax time, down after.
- Upgrades apply immediately, pro rata for the rest of the month, with the new allowance added at once.
- Downgrades apply from the next month.
- Unused workpapers roll over one month, then expire.
Level
15% lessThe same bill every month, with quiet months banked for tax season.
- Pick a monthly level in steps of 5 workpapers, 20 at least. We suggest one from last year’s count.
- Unused workpapers go into a bank, up to six months’ worth (nine after 12 continuous months), used automatically once a month’s allowance runs out.
- Your price is locked for 12 months while you stay on Level.
- Switch to Level by 31 May and one month’s allowance is added to your bank.
- Cancelling or switching to Seasonal keeps the bank for 30 days, then it expires.
A worked example
A practice doing about 1,100 workpapers a year.
On Seasonal, Professional from July to October and Growth for the other eight months: 4 × A$1,090 + 8 × A$490. On Level, 95 a month at A$6.94, banking workpapers from November to May and drawing on them from July to October.
- Seasonal, a year
- A$8,280
- A$1,090 or A$490 a month
- Level, 95 a month
- A$7,910
- A$659 every month
- Level saves
- A$370
- a year, with the same bill every month
Seasonal bills A$1,090 a month from July to October and A$490 a month from November to June, A$8,280 a year. Level bills A$659 every month, about A$7,910 a year.
What uses a workpaper
Credits used by each kind of workpaper.
A workpaper uses its credit once, when it’s first prepared and reaches “Ready for review”. These are always free:
- Rebuilds when a late document arrives
- Edits and reviews
- Queries
- Exports
- Document requests
- Client uploads
- Email intake
Mark a new workpaper “Not usable” within 7 days, with a reason, and its credit comes back (up to 5% of the month’s use).
Going over, without surprises
- One line on the next invoicePast your allowance (and, on Level, your bank), extra workpapers are charged at your plan’s overage rate.
- A cap your admin setsBy default, the price of the next plan up. At the cap, preparation pauses until the cap or plan changes. Uploads, client links and email intake keep working.
- Switch when cheaperOn by default: the moment this month’s overage would cost more than upgrading, you move up a plan, pro rata. On Growth, the 113th workpaper in a month makes Professional cheaper.
- Warned earlyAdmins are emailed at 80% and 100% of the allowance, and at 80% of the cap.
Once paid plans open, they’ll be billed monthly through Stripe, by card or Australian direct debit (BECS). Billing months start on the 1st; the first month is pro-rated, with the full allowance. Cancelling and refunds: see Refunds and cancellations.
